Gov. Cuomo Finally Admits NYS Film Credit Could End

Statement from Reclaim New York spokesperson Jadan Horyn:

“It’s about time! We are glad the governor has come around to what Reclaim has said numerous times – namely the film credit only serves the politicians who dole it out for political favors.

The film credit provides little return on the “investment” taxes paid by New York residents. In fact it costs $420 million a year to New York Taxpayers.

The true irony here is the Governor was willing to support corporate welfare for Amazon, but is now using this as a bargaining chip with the State Senate. Let’s hope for all New Yorkers that this tax waste is ended.”
